ECONOMIC RESEARCH JOURNAL (ERJ) was established in 1955, the Economic Research Journal (Jingji Yanjiu in Chinese spelling) is a comprehensive Chinese economics journal sponsored by the Institute of Economics at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and circulated worldwide. It has been adhering to the principle of maintaining high academic standard, keeping pace with the times, upholding innovation and promoting forward thinking. Based on China’s realities and geared to the forefront of the international economics research, ERJ is devoted to publishing high-quality and original theoretical articles on economic issues that have cropped up during China’s reform and opening-up, economic development and institutional restructuring.
Tuned to the new trends of the development of China’s socialist market economy and economics theories in the past decade, ERJ has become the first economics journal in China to introduce the anonymous refereeing system. It has won many domestic periodical awards, which help it build up fame. ERJ is carrying out the double blind refereeing system and strengthening study of major practical issues to further improve the quality of the publication.
In 2005 though 2007, ERJ came out on top in several indices (impact factor, number of citation and citation frequency) in Chinese Social Science Citation Index, which is developed by the Nanjing University’s Chinese Social Sciences Research Evaluation Center. During 2005 and 2007, papers published in ERJ were awarded Sun Yefang Economic Science Award covered 50-60% of the winners, which is China’s top economics prize.
To adapt to the new trends, in 2004, ERJ was expanded to 128 pages, and 160 pages in 2006 so that some key articles could be elaborated on. After the expansion, the readers could have access to more high-quality papers.
ERJ will continue to faithfully serve the economic researchers, policy-makers at various levels and all those who are willing to study economic theories and China’s economic development, reform and opening up. As the economics journal with the largest circulation overseas, ERJ will serve as an important channel for people living abroad to access domestic economic development and economic theories.
ERJ is open to advertising on economic books, newspapers and periodicals and information of academic conferences. In 2008, we will introduce to our readers influential domestic institutions of higher learning, their schools and institutes and other economic research bodies.
